At the beginning of October 2023, the law firm Baker McKenzie moved into the top eight floors of the new T4 building in Frankfurt am Main\’s Four Towers complex.
The floors are shaped like a shifted hexagon. On each floor, two opposite areas are differentiated as “open corners.” Here, between glass partitions, there is an area for retreat. Adjacent to the kitchenette and either a library or meeting rooms are open seating areas surrounded by lush greenery. The planting concept from the tender was created by Moss Amsterdam.
The property has a total of 11 corners. In addition, the property has solitary planters in the lobby and in the secretarial areas. There are also green sideboards and planted room dividers. A total of around 2,000 plants were installed in the property. However, the main greenery is found in the open corner. It features all-round planting in a biophilic design, with a variety of bushy, jungle-like plants interspersed with solitary plants. It is an interplay of different leaf colors, shapes, and plant heights that breaks up the seating area while also screening it off. The corners are designed to support different ways of working.
They provide a cozy zoning for concentrated work, open meeting and lunch opportunities. Every two weeks, the maintenance service is carried out by two people on one day.
The focus here is on targeted watering and nutrient supply, pruning and cleaning, as well as pest monitoring and extensive use of various beneficial insects. In spring 2024, approximately 50 plants were replaced. This was the only replanting in the property to date.
