Holcim intends to redefine the workplace as a testament to innovation and sustainability in the concrete industry with the renovation of its headquarters in Zug, Switzerland.

The key element in the interior design by architects BEYOND SPACE was the strategic integration of green spaces and biophilic elements to promote a vibrant working environment where productivity flourishes in a natural setting.

MOSS Amsterdam designed a multi-layered plant concept with over 60 species that goes far beyond the standard range of office plants. CREAPLANT was responsible for the implementation planning, the complete installation of the container seals, the mineral substrate, the irrigation system, the planting and the monitoring of the plant lighting calculation.

There are many indoor gardens, where plants usually grow in raised beds. In the Green Lane project, miniature landscapes were created built into the floor, without visible containers, which blend uniquely with the office environment.

The project shows what is possible in an interdisciplinary project team when creative ideas, many years of expertise in maintaining tropical plants in buildings and technical know-how come together – a visionary greening strategy for the office workplace of the future.
