Vacancy for a medium level communication – and event manager
(a six month free lance job of 24 hours per month on average, but spread out in peaks throughout the job-period)
More about EILO and the job
The European Interior Landscaping Organisation (EILO) has now been in existence for 15 years. Professional Interior Landscapers from all over Europe and sometimes beyond, together with a number of their suppliers, form an association that shares knowledge and promotes the profession. The profession of interior landscaping is relatively small in most countries. This makes it extra meaningful and inspiring to meet and share knowledge on a European level.
The board is formed by members of the association. Sometimes directly elected and sometimes delegated by national trade associations. This board is unpaid and must be supported in its activities by a small team consisting of a secretary, and two aides of which you can become one.
EILO is a growing organisation. It is getting more and more members and the importance of the interior planting profession is also growing. This may mean that the job we are asking for now will also grow.
The activities of the medium level communication and event manager are (at least)
- Help organizing the annual excursion to one of the member countries;
- Help organizing the Best Project Award every two years;
- Maintaining the website (including invitations, forms and reports of the above activities and knowledge content for the members)
- Maintaining the social media channels of EILO (linkedin, facebook and instagram)
- Writing, styling and sending newsletters and mailings;
- Support job exchange programme;
- And other common support and content work.
All activities above will be executed within the context of the team. In other words, you do not do it alone.
What do we ask of you?
We are looking for someone who is willing to learn about this industry or already knows about it and is curious about what drives interior planters and designers and what they need. And, who is able to communicate about this profession to people, agencies and audiences important to this industry.
We are also looking for someone who is strong in language and is able to write content, social media and news. Fluent English speaking and writing is a must. Speaking either Dutch, German, French or Spanish or multiple languages, is a very welcome skill.
We are looking for someone who is proactive. Someone, who watches out for deadlines to be met, actions to be set out, etc. and supports the board and team in that area as well.
Images and videos are very important. In this profession, but also in all communication about it. The more you master this part of content management, the better, but additional support or course can also be given here.
Experience in managing Social Media accounts for a professional organisation is great. Affinity with Social Media and skilled in operating on Linkedin, Instagram and Facebook a must.
It is not a necessity, but it would be very practical if you are based in the Netherlands.
In general we expect you to have at least two years experience in the communication profession and some love and preferably experience in the field of greenery.
Finally, we are looking for someone who can use his/her time flexibly. In December and January, for example, there is little work to do, but in September, when the annual excursion takes place, EILO takes a lot of your time.
The offer and how to reply
We offer you a six-month assignment, with an average of 24 hours per month. These hours can vary from month to month, with some months offering less work and others more. We would love to start working together starting from April 1st 2026.
